John Mark Bwanika is a medical doctor and E-health specialist. He is the co-founder and director of operations at Rocket Health Africa. He is also a research fellow with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Fogarty Global health fellowship.
Rocket Health is a leading indigenous digital health and Telemedicine Company in East Africa started in 2012. It is the leading digital health partner for the largest public health programs and digital health research in Uganda; serving over 3 million beneficiaries in the last 5 years.
Since 2019, Rocket Health has been running an integrated healthcare service that comprises 24/7 medical tele-consultation services, last-mile delivery of medicines and other pharmaceutical products, community laboratory sample pickups, and a state-of-the-art stationary clinic. These are also complemented by the first-of-its-kind e-commerce site for healthcare products and services. The Rocket health services are accessed by the public paying out of pocket or through their insurance premiums with Rocket health being sole telemedicine partner for eight (12) leading health insurance providers in Uganda and East Africa.
As part of the COVID-19 response, Rocket Health has grown to be the leading community information disseminator, telemedicine provider and last-mile respondent for COVID testing and medicine delivery- serving over 1 million people.
