An African airline was key to delivering Covid-19 supplies around the continent – and the world. AU nations launched the Africa Medical Supplies Platform, a one-stop shop to give the continent a fairer chance in the international scramble for Covid-19 test kits, protective equipment and vaccines. The pandemic was an eye opener for several entrepreneurs and institutions with products, such as PEPs and ventilators that would have otherwise been imported being produced locally. This signaled new ways and winners for some economies.
